Earn More FREE Rides With Custom Lyft And Uber Referral Codes

Passenger referrals are a key part of growing a rideshare community. To diversify income for rideshare drivers, passenger referrals are a must. Referral codes are used to give passengers that extra savings. Everything from a free ride to credit’s for their next. These passenger referral codes basically sell themselves.

How to Refer Passengers

For some drivers, passenger referrals are hard to use. Maybe they are doing it wrong. Here is an easy guide on how to refer passenger referrals.

  1. Give out your personalized referral code to family, friends, and co-workers. Word of mouth is one of the easiest ways to share.
  2. Share with social media. Have friends you don’t see often. Did you know they can use your referral even if you are not the driver?
  3. Promo’s. Stay alert to the promotions being offered through your rideshare program.

Explain to those you share your code with, that it is very important they use the code before asking for you as the driver. Once they have requested you as the driver, it’s too late!

Please note: Each new referral can only have one referral code on their account.

Your personal referral code can be given to a friend and used in the following cities:

  • Atlanta
  • Austin
  • Boston
  • Chicago
  • Dallas
  • Denver
  • Los Angeles

  • Nashville

Benefits for Drivers

The benefits for drivers differs between companies and promotions. Lyft pays its drivers $10 cash for each passenger a driver refers. Whereas, Uber will pay you $30 (in ride credits) for every passenger a driver refers. If you use the rideshare service personally, the latter may be more beneficial for you. If you prefer to drive yourself around town, then taking the cash may be the option for you.

If you have a night on the town with some friends, having ride credits could be useful. You never know when you might be unable to drive yourself home.

Lyft also offers referral cards. These cards can be handed out. They will provide potential customers with the information they need for you to receive a passenger reward. Or if you are feeling creative you can make your own. Unfortunately, Uber does not have cards at this time. You can order business cards through many online companies very cheaply. Be sure to include your referral code and specific instructions for new clients.

Uber does offer drivers the opportunity to create personalized codes. These codes can be created on your passenger account (if you do not have one- create one). All drivers should from time to time, check out other drivers. This will give you a guide on how you are performing and some hints are any improvements.

Creating Your Personalized Referral Code through Uber

To start creating your personalized referral code through Uber, go to Uber.com. Then sign in to your “Rider Account”. After you have loaded your riders account page, look for the button that says “Free Rides’. This button should be in the top left corner.

Note: Make sure you are on a passenger account and not your driver’s dashboard. You can then create your code with something that is easy to remember or memorable to you. The code will start with “uber”. For example – you could use a code like Uberlicious, our UberDriver4you. Some drivers choose to use their name and keep things simple, such as – uberSam. The key to creating a code personalized to you. Yet, you want to make it easy enough for the customer to remember. This way if they lose your card, they still remember your unique personalized referral code.
