Let’s face it, it just makes sense. At least on paper. The popular and fast growing rideshare firm Lyft considered adding local delivery services to their portfolio lineup but decided against the venture. Initially, in a move to enhance revenue streams for both the company and their drivers, it seemed like a solid move.
Unfortunately, the markets have been playing out inconsistently with these offerings. There is also another dimension of liability that we would need to consider and are not ready to engage in at this time.
Other firms such as Postmates offer such services and report positive results.
However, at this time at least, Lyft will be dropping this option from their lineup. Time will tell whether this was a move that will prove to be wise.
